About approvals in company and team-managed service projects

In Jira Service Management, approvals are different in team-managed service projectsand company-managed service projects.

Company-managed service projects

In company-managed service projects, admins will need to:

  • check that user picker (multiple users) or user picker (multiple groups) fields already exist, or create new ones

  • add the relevant field to the work type

  • configure the relevant field in the request type

  • add an approval step to the workflow.

Agents can add or remove approvers (or approver groups) via the approvals panel during the approval step.

If a customer adds approvers, the field will remain visible on the work item for agents.

Team-managed service projects

In team-managed service projects, admins just need to add the approval step to the workflow. Jira Service Management will automatically create and associate the approvals field to the request type.

Agents can add or remove approvers via the approvals panel during the approval step.

If a customer adds approvers, the field will remain visible on the work item for agents.
